Storyline

The story of Assassin’s Creed III Remastered takes place in the present day as Desmond Miles searches for a hidden Grand Temple in Turin, New York. There, he and his father William, sister Rebecca, and ally Shaun activate an ancient Apple of Eden to access genetic memories. This makes Desmond go into the Animus, where he relives the lives of his ancestors in the 18th century, starting with Haytham Kenway, a British nobleman and Templar who comes to the American colonies during the Seven Years’ War to find a legendary storehouse of old artifacts. Haytham brings together a group of operatives, such as Charles Lee, William Johnson, Thomas Hickey, Benjamin Church, and Jonathan Pitcairn. He also makes deals with Native American tribes and fights in important battles like the one at Fort Duquesne. His story connects with that of Ratonhnhaké:ton, a young Kanien’kehá:ka man whose village is destroyed by Templar forces. This makes him want to learn from Assassin mentor Achilles Davenport and take on the name Connor as he tries to find justice in the growing conflict of the American Revolutionary War.

As Connor travels through colonial Boston, New York, and the Frontier, he runs into Templar agents who are working for both the British and the Patriots. He protects his people’s lands and helps people like George Washington, all while dealing with personal revelations about his heritage. In the present day, Desmond comes out of memories to find power cells all over the world. He has to deal with threats from Templar Daniel Cross and Warren Vidic, who want the Apple in exchange for William’s safety after Abstergo Industries captures him. Along with these events, Juno, an entity from the First Civilization, shows visions of cosmic prophecies and historical disasters. These visions lead to Desmond’s important choices that connect the struggles of his ancestors with the future of humanity.

Gameplay

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered has a new combat system that focuses on Connor’s offensive moves. He can use two Hidden Blades, one of which can be thrown like a dagger, as well as tomahawks, flintlock pistols, rope darts, and bows. Players can do chain kills, multiple takedowns, and double counters with a system that changes based on the situation. Instead of locking on to a target, the game automatically chooses enemies, focusing on speed, momentum, and strategic button combinations to get different reactions, like killing, throwing, stunning, or disarming enemies. Exploration takes place in a huge Frontier landscape that is 1.5 times bigger than previous cities, as well as in Boston and New York. The freerunning has been improved with tree climbing, cliff scaling, sliding over obstacles, and smooth transitions like jumping through windows to rooftops. Underground tunnel networks make fast travel easy, and hunting mechanics let you skin animals with weapons like arrows or pistols to get resources to sell, which depend on how good the kill was. The Homestead feature lets you hire civilians to help you build a community that makes money through crafting and trading. Each new resident makes the community bigger.

Naval combat lets you control ships on the Aquila for privateer contracts and sea missions. You can get to the Aquila from Harbormasters or the Homestead harbor. Winning battles lowers trade risks. Players fire round shots, swivel guns, and upgraded projectiles like chain shots. They also have to keep an eye on the sails, which can be full for speed or half for handling. The weather changes the speed of the ship by affecting the wind and waves, and the crew can take cover or avoid being hit. Remastered features include better stealth with bush hiding, enemy whistling, double assassinations, more crafting options, a detailed mini-map, and physically-based lighting for a more immersive experience. All solo DLC and Liberation are also included. Remastered for longer adventures.

Playing Experience

When you play Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, you can start a revolution in huge frontiers and busy colonial cities. You can do parkour on tree branches to get dizzying freedom, and you can use naval broadsides to destroy enemy fleets in stormy seas. Hunting through thick woods gives you a primal thrill, and the remastered 4K graphics make revolutionary battles come to life with smoke-filled fields and torch-lit assassinations. PC lets you play epic games at 60 frames per second without any problems. Winlator on Android takes advantage of this portability by turning downtime into daring infiltrations with responsive controls and steady performance.
