DrainSim
DrainSim
DrainSim makes an unusual job surprisingly absorbing: clearing water from flooded streets. Instead of racing through a scripted disaster, you inspect blocked areas, choose the right equipment, and watch the environment respond as drainage improves. The premise is simple, but the visible transformation of a messy site creates a strong sense of progress. PC players who like practical simulation can settle into its measured pace. Winlator players can explore the idea on Android experimentally, with performance depending heavily on how the game’s graphics translate.
Gameplay
Begin with basic tools and work through standing water, debris, and clogged routes. A rake can clear obstructions, while pumps help shift water that cannot drain naturally. More difficult jobs reward upgrades and better planning, so it pays to look at the entire flooded area before acting. The pleasure comes from solving a physical problem one step at a time, then seeing dry ground appear where a pool used to be. Because each location presents a different layout, equipment choice and the order of your actions matter more than quick reflexes. Its sandbox feel also leaves room to experiment with your own cleanup method.
System Requirements
These PC specifications provide useful hardware targets; larger flooded scenes may need lower graphics settings.
| PC component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Core i5-7600 or Ryzen 5 3600 | Core i7-12700 or Ryzen 7 5800X |
| GPU | GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 590 | RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6700 XT |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Android / Winlator component | Minimum experiment | Recommended experiment |
|---|---|---|
| Snapdragon | 8 Gen 2 | 8 Gen 3 or newer |
| MediaTek | Dimensity 9200 | Dimensity 9300 or newer |
| RAM | 12 GB | 16 GB |
On PC, a steady 60 FPS is a reasonable goal, although heavy water effects may justify a 30 FPS target on minimum hardware. There is no verified Winlator benchmark for DrainSim, so a mobile FPS estimate would be guesswork. Its rendering features and the selected Android driver may also determine whether it runs at all.
