Infernax

Infernax is a brutal Metroidvania action-adventure game that brings back the unforgiving charm of 8-bit classics with pixel-perfect gore and moral depth. Players take on the role of a crusading knight fighting demonic curses in a deserted world. Berzerk Studio made it, and The Arcade Crew published it. Storyline

Duke Alcedor comes back from the Crusades to his home in Upel, but he finds it overrun by horrible monsters that came from the Necronomicon, a book of evil magic that has ruined the land and its people. Alcedor is sent to break five crystal orbs that are protected by elder demons in scary castles. Along the way, he discovers a cult that worships the demon Belphegor, which leads to fights that test his faith and determination in dangerous villages and dark ruins.

The choices players make affect the story in many ways, determining alignments like righteous heroism, villainous submission, or neutral cowardice. These choices lead to different endings, such as sacrificial martyrdom, dark lord ascension, or even cybernetic futures. These choices lead to new quests, alliances, or betrayals, turning a simple demon-slaying journey into an epic story of consequence and corruption that can be played again and again.

Gameplay

Infernax’s main gameplay loop is nonlinear Metroidvania-style exploration through dangerous castles and secret-filled overworlds.
