Spider-Man - Web of Shadows

In Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, players are thrown into a symbiote apocalypse that is destroying Manhattan. Every choice they make affects the city and Spider-Man’s soul. As an alien symbiote virus spreads from Venom, it infects civilians, changes villains, and turns skyscrapers into hives that move. The first scene shows Spider-Man desperately looking for Mary Jane Watson in the middle of all the chaos. Then, it flashes back to a brutal fight with Venom to get back his black symbiote suit. You and Luke Cage work together to get through a gang war in Harlem that Kingpin is in charge of. Do you step in and be a hero, or do you let the chaos happen? Follow the mysterious Black Cat, who is torn between being bad and being good, as she makes deals with Moon Knight or gives in to darker desires.

While Black Widow leads S.H.I.E.L.D. in quarantining the island, Electro goes on a rampage in symbiote fury, Wolverine hunts you down because he can smell the corruption, and Vulture sends out goblin gliders. Get the Tinkerer to help you with anti-symbiote tech, protect hero bases from attacks, and fight evil enemies like Symbiote Wolverine. The moral crossroads get worse: spare Venom or kill him? Do you like MJ or Black Cat? The climax happens on a helicarrier against a huge, multi-headed Venom, and the endings are very different: you can either restore order as the classic hero or take over Manhattan as a symbiote overlord, with vengeful allies chasing you.

In an open-world Manhattan, the gameplay perfectly captures Spider-Man’s spirit by combining thrilling movement with strategic combat. Web-swinging is a game-changer: it lets you build up speed as you zip between buildings, slide down towers, and use your spider-sense to lock onto threats from far away for smooth dives. A 3D mini-map shows how much higher you are than everyone else, and collectibles boost your health and speed to give you godlike mobility. Combat turns into fluid, free-form chaos, with chain ground pounds, aerial juggles, and wall bounces, and web strikes that pull enemies in for deadly finishers.

Switch back and forth between the agile red-and-blue suit for quick combos and the fierce black symbiote suit for raw power and crowd-clearing tendrils. Each suit has its own upgrade tree that unlocks brutal moves. Your reputation meter tells you what to do. If you do something heroic, you’ll get help from Avengers like Luke Cage, Wolverine, or Moon Knight. If you do something bad, you’ll get help from Black Cat, Rhino, Vulture, or Electro. Random things happen on the streets all the time, like breaking up symbiote nests, saving civilians, or stopping gang fights for XP. When you fight a boss, you have to change your strategy, like dodging Electro’s lightning or breaking up Vulture’s swarm. The adrenaline never goes away, whether you’re letting symbiote rage loose on PC’s detailed chaos or swinging through canyons with Winlator.

Suit upgrades, ally synergies, and ability fusions all make customization easier and reward players who play aggressively. Side challenges test your skills, and New Game+ keeps your progress so you can play again and again.
