Storyline
Kazuma Kiryu gets out of prison in 1995 after spending ten years there for taking the blame for his sworn brother Akira Nishikiyama’s murder of their father, Sohei Dojima, to keep the peace. Kiryu used to be a rising star in the Tojo Clan’s Dojima Family. When he gets out of prison, he finds Kamurocho in chaos: 10 billion yen has disappeared from the clan’s coffers, his childhood sweetheart Yumi is missing, and old friends are suspicious of him. Kiryu is thrown back into the fray and discovers a web of lies involving rival families, corrupt politicians, and the secretive Nikkyo Consortium, which is planning a huge real estate takeover.
As tensions rise into full-blown war between Tojo groups like the Dojima and Shimano Families, Kiryu meets the mysterious Goro Majima, a crazy yakuza who wants to fan the flames of his enemy’s fire. Flashbacks show how Nishikiyama’s tragic descent into ruthlessness happened while Kiryu was away, fueled by grief, extortion, and betrayal. Taking care of a mysterious girl named Haruka becomes the most important thing, leading to explosive fights and heartbreaking truths that put brotherhood and loyalty to the test in a world where trust is the most dangerous gamble.
Gameplay
The Yakuza 0 engine powers Yakuza Kiwami’s combat system, which lets players switch between four dynamic styles: Brawler for balanced strikes, Rush for quick combos, Beast for powerful grapples, and the ultimate Dragon of Dojima for Kiryu’s signature ferocity. Heat Actions send cinematic finishers at enemies who are dazed, and Kiwami moves counter enemies who are regenerating during intense heat mode.
